Sri Ayyappa Kirana & General Stores

Located at D.No 19-23-27 on the Police Station Road in Gajuwaka this shop has been around for quite some time now. Being so close to the station means there are always people moving around and the road is never really quiet. I usually start my shift by dusting the shelves and checking the stock of oil and sugar. We have a lot of items crammed into the space from floor to ceiling so it can feel a bit crowded when the evening rush starts. I have a small wooden chair tucked behind the counter where I sit when there are no customers. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the nearby houses who just need a few things for their morning tea or evening meal. I have to keep a close eye on the inventory because things like salt and matches sell out faster than you would expect. The floor is made of old stone and it stays relatively cool even when the Vizag heat is at its worst outside. I don't use a computer for anything so I do all the math in my head or on a scrap of paper. Sometimes we get people just stopping by to wait for the bus and they end up buying a bottle of water or some gum. It is a simple way to make a living and I have grown to like the noise and the constant activity on this road.
