Sony Hair Style sits near the Gurudwara Junction in Visakhapatnam, right on the busy Main Road. Being so close to the SBH Bank means we get a lot of people stopping in after they finish their bank work. The junction is always noisy with cars and people rushing around, so the shop feels like a bit of a break from all that. I have been cutting hair here for a while now. The setup is quite basic with the old-style barber chairs and a big shelf for the powders and creams. I spend a lot of my morning sharpening the razors on that leather strap and making sure the towels are dry. Most of my customers are regulars who have been coming to me for years. They don't even have to tell me how they want their hair cut anymore, I just know. We have a small television in the corner that is usually on a news channel or a cricket match if India is playing. Sometimes the floor gets covered in hair during the afternoon rush, so I have to grab the broom quickly between customers. I don't have a big staff, it is just simple work done with my hands. When the sun starts to go down, the lights of the junction get bright and I finish up the last few shaves. I usually close up once the bank nearby has been shut for a few hours and the traffic starts to thin out.
