This shop is at D. No. 36-26-4/2, right on the Main Road in Kancharapalem, Visakhapatnam. Being on the main road means we see a lot of traffic and people passing by all the time. It gets quite dusty because of all the vehicles, so I have to wipe down the mirrors and the glass shelves every couple of hours. Smart Hair Styles is a straightforward place for the men in this part of Vizag to get their hair cut or a shave. We have a few chairs lined up, and the floor is usually covered in some amount of hair until we get a chance to sweep it. The humidity here in Visakhapatnam can be tough, making the shop feel a bit stuffy even with the ceiling fans going full speed. We don't have a fancy waiting area, just some stools where people sit and wait their turn. Most of our customers are from around the neighborhood and they’ve been coming to us for years. We know their families and what's happening in their lives. It's not a big corporate business, just us working every day to make a living. The evenings are usually the busiest when everyone is coming home from their jobs. I stay here until the shops around us start closing their shutters. It is a repetitive job, but there is something nice about the routine of it all. We just focus on the task in front of us.
