Satya Salon

Satya Salon is right on the Main Road, over on Beach Road in Visakhapatnam. We are directly opposite Srinivasa Gardens. It’s a nice spot because you can often feel the breeze from the sea, though the humidity in Visakhapatnam - 530017 can be a bit much sometimes. Our salon isn’t anything fancy. It’s just a place where you can get your hair trimmed or your beard lined up. We see a lot of people who are walking over to the gardens or coming back from the beach. The floor is usually covered in hair by mid-day because we stay pretty steady. We don’t have a fancy waiting room, just some stools against the wall. Most of the guys don’t mind waiting a few minutes. We talk about the local cricket matches or what’s happening in the neighborhood. It’s a friendly atmosphere, even if it’s a bit cramped when three or four people are inside. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t need to do much to let people know we exist. People just know Satya Salon is the place across from the gardens. We use the same tools we’ve had for years because they still work fine. We don’t change things just for the sake of changing them. We like our routine. It’s just a local business trying to make sure the neighborhood stays looking sharp without making a big fuss.
