Satya Sai Kirana & General Stores

Satya Sai Kirana & General Stores is tucked away in Rly New Colony over here in T.C.Palem. Since we are in the Vizag area, it gets quite humid, so we keep the fans running all day long. Being in a railway colony is a bit different from the main city. Most of our customers work for the railways or live in the quarters nearby. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just wooden shelves and some glass jars for candies and loose items. We sell mostly the stuff you need for a kitchen—oils, rice, and spices. I spend a lot of time talking to the retirees who walk past in the evenings. They usually stop for a bit of salt or just to say hello. It feels like a small village inside the city sometimes. My son helps me with the heavy bags of grain when he’s not busy with his own work. We don't have a computer or anything fancy for billing, just a notebook where I write things down. Sometimes the supply trucks are late because of the train crossings, but we manage. People know if they need something urgently, they can just knock on the side door if we haven't opened yet. It’s a quiet way to earn a living, honestly. We aren't trying to grow into a supermarket or anything, just keeping the colony folks happy with their daily needs.
