Down in Duvvada, things move at their own pace. We are right near the Rajeev Nagar bus stop, so we see the buses coming and going all day. It’s a good spot because people waiting for their ride often look inside or stop in if they have enough time. Visakhapatnam is a humid place, so we try to keep the shop as breezy as we can. We have the usual mirrors and the black chairs that every barber shop seems to have. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so we are always busy with the broom. The bus stop is a landmark, so it’s easy for people to find us. We get a lot of workers and students coming in. Sometimes it’s a bit noisy with the traffic and the people shouting for the bus, but you get used to it. We just focus on the person in the chair. It is not a complicated business. We just do the cuts and the shaves and keep the place running. It’s how we spend our days here in Duvvada, and we don’t really ask for much else. We just like the routine of the shop and the people we meet every day while we work.
