We are tucked away in the Department of Psychology at Andhra University here in Visakhapatnam. Being part of the university atmosphere means we see a lot of students and faculty walking by every day. The office is basically a space we use to handle the mental health services side of things. It’s a quiet corner, which is good for the kind of work we do. We have some bookshelves filled with old textbooks and files from years of work. Dr. Ramana and the rest of us spend our hours talking to people who need some support or just someone to listen to what's going on with them. The building itself is a bit old, so it has that classic university smell of paper and dust. We don't have any big signs or fancy lights. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they are already on campus. In the afternoons, the sea breeze from the coast reaches us a bit, which is nice. We try to keep things low-key and comfortable for anyone who walks through the door. It’s mostly about sitting down and having those necessary conversations. There’s no rush here, just the steady pace of the academic day. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and it feels like home to us now. It gets a bit busy during exam season when more people seem to need a bit of guidance or just a place to talk.
