Process Engineer

Our location is right inside the Zinc Colony, specifically at Wb-50 near the Zinc Smelter. Being part of the Hindustan Zinc Limited area in Vishakapatnam means our life revolves around the industry. As a Process Engineer, the work is mostly about watching the machinery and making sure the flows are right. It is a very industrial setting. You can hear the hum of the plant all day and night. The air has a certain smell to it that you only find near a smelter. We don't have a fancy storefront because we work right where the action is. My office is a small room with a metal desk and a lot of technical manuals. We wear boots and hard hats most of the day. It’s not a place for someone who likes to stay clean. We spend a lot of time walking between different sections of the facility, checking gauges and talking to the operators. The 530015 area is pretty much its own little world. We have everything we need right here in the colony. It is a practical way to live and work. We don't spend money on advertising or anything like that. The work is right in front of us, and we just focus on keeping the process running without any hitches. It is a lot of responsibility, but it is what we know how to do. The humidity from the Vizag coast is always there, making the work a bit sweaty.
