Prabhu Hair Saloon

We have been sitting right opposite the Anakapalli bus stop in Old Gajuwaka for quite some time now. It is a very loud spot because of all the buses and people moving around Visakhapatnam. Our shop is pretty traditional and simple. We have the usual mirrors and chairs, and we do not bother with much else. It is a place where men from the neighborhood come to get a haircut or a shave while they wait for their bus to arrive. We see a lot of travelers too who just happen to be passing through the stop and need a quick tidy up. The walls have a few old pictures on them and the radio is usually playing some local station. It is not the kind of place where you need an appointment weeks in advance. You just walk in and wait your turn on the bench. Sometimes there is a bit of a queue, but people just chat or read the daily paper while they wait. We know the bus schedules by heart now because we hear the conductors shouting all day. Gajuwaka is a busy industrial kind of area, so our customers are mostly working-class people. We do not use any fancy products or have a big staff. It is just a few of us who know how to handle a pair of scissors. The floor is old but we keep it as clean as we can.
