Nuts N Spices

You can find us over at Soudamini Apartments in Lawsons Bay Colony. We are up on the 5th floor in Flat No. 3, which isn’t where people usually expect to find a business like ours. It is more of a home-style setup honestly. Every morning the whole hallway starts smelling like cardamom and pepper because we are busy sorting through the new stock. We get the nuts and the spices in bulk and then we have to sit down and go through them by hand. It takes a long time to make sure everything looks right and there aren't any bad bits mixed in. We don't have a big factory or anything like that. It’s just a few tables and a lot of bags. My sister helps with the packaging and we usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. The space is a bit cramped when a big delivery arrives and we have boxes stacked up near the balcony. Lawsons Bay is a nice area though and we like the breeze we get from being up so high. Most of our regular customers just call us up and we send things out. It’s a quiet way to earn a living but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We don’t have any fancy brochures to show people. We just show them the actual product and let them smell the freshness for themselves.
