New Sankara Saloon

New Sankara Saloon is over here on the Main Road BRTS in Marripalem. Our door number is 38-37-87 and if you know Visakhapatnam, you know this road gets very crowded with the buses and all the people moving about. We are located near Baskar Gardens, so that is a good landmark if you are looking for us for the first time. The shop is small but it works for what we do every day. Usually, the morning starts with the sound of the traffic outside and we get busy pretty fast. Men from the nearby houses come in for a quick trim or a shave before they head to work. We have a couple of chairs and mirrors that have seen a lot of years. It isn’t anything like those big city malls, just a regular saloon where you can sit and chat while we work. The fan overhead keeps things cool enough even when the heat in Vizag gets a bit much in the afternoons. Sometimes the power goes out but we just keep going with the doors open. We like being part of the Marripalem community. You see the same faces every month and you get to know their stories and their families. It’s a decent place to spend the day. We are just here doing our job on the main road, nothing more to it than that, really.
