Nani Sign Makers

You can find us at Sh.No.3-1 on Rama Talkies Road in the Asilmetta area. Being so close to the cinema means there are always crowds and a lot of energy on the street. Nani Sign Makers is a small shop, and we’ve packed it full of everything we need to make signs. There are rolls of colorful vinyl stacked in the corners and sheets of metal leaning against the back wall. Our main worktable takes up almost the entire middle of the room. It’s where all the cutting and sticking happens, and by the end of the day, the floor is usually a mess of scraps. We don’t have any fancy computer systems for managing things; we just use a simple notebook to keep track of who ordered what. Most of the time, you’ll find us with the radio on, working through a pile of orders. The noise from the traffic on Rama Talkies Road is constant, but we don’t even notice it anymore. We’ve known most of the other shopkeepers around Asilmetta for a long time, so someone is always sticking their head in to say hello. Sometimes we make a mistake on a measurement and have to do a whole piece over again, which is just part of the process. It’s a plain, local business and we don't try to act like we’re anything bigger than we are.
