K.R.M General Stores

K.R.M General Stores sits right on the Main Road at 10-8-61 in Gajuwaka. Being on the Main Road in Visakhapatnam means we get a lot of people just passing through. It’s a bit more hectic here than on the side streets. I’ve been running the place for years, and I’ve seen the road get wider and the traffic get heavier. The shop is filled with all the standard stuff you’d need for a kitchen or a house. I keep the pulses and grains in big bins, and the rest is on the shelves. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but it’s honest. I’m usually seen wearing a simple shirt and sitting near the entrance to greet whoever walks in. The dust from the Main Road is a constant battle, so there is always a rag in my hand. We are in the 530026 area, and there are many shops around, but we stay busy enough. I don't use any high-tech systems; it's just me and my notebook for keeping track of things. Sometimes the local kids come in for a single piece of candy, and I don't mind. It's those small interactions that make the long hours on Main Road worth it. We aren't trying to be a supermarket. We are just K.R.M General Stores, a place for the locals to get their things and go about their day. I usually have to shout over the noise of the buses outside to talk to customers.
