Kiran Saloon

Kiran Saloon is right on the Main Road in Pedawaltair. If you know where the Airtel office or the DTDC branch is, you have probably walked past us many times. We are in Shop No.1. The place has been around for a while now. It is not a fancy studio with high-end decor or anything like that. We just have a few old barber chairs and big mirrors that show some age around the edges. In the mornings, things stay pretty quiet until the Vizag humidity really kicks in and people come inside to cool down for a bit. We keep the ceiling fans on high speed all day long. You can always hear the clicking of the scissors and the traffic moving outside on the main road. Dust from the street is a constant battle for us, so someone is always using the broom to keep the floor clear. It is just a small team of us here, cutting hair and doing shaves for the locals. Many of our customers are regulars who have been coming for years. Some started coming as boys and now they bring their own kids along for their first haircuts. We don't have much of a waiting room, just some simple plastic chairs lined up against the wall. People usually just sit and read the newspaper or scroll through their phones until a chair opens up. Sundays get pretty packed, especially before the lunch hour starts. We just do our work and try to make sure people look decent.
