You can find our office at Port View, and our mailing address is Post Box No. 113. We’ve been situated here with a view of the water for a very long time. It’s a family kind of place, and you can see that in how we run things day to day. Being near the port means we see all the big ships coming and going, which is always a sight no matter how many years you’ve been here. Our office is a bit old-fashioned, with wooden desks and stacks of ledgers that seem to reach the ceiling sometimes. We don’t go for the modern, minimalist look because that’s just not us. We like having our things where we can see them. The work is mostly about coordinating different moving parts and making sure the timing is right for the ships. It’s a lot of waiting and then a lot of rushing all at once. We’ve seen the port grow and change over the decades, and we’ve just stayed here doing our part. Most of the staff have been with us for years, so we’re more like a small community than a company. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just show up every morning, check the horizon, and start on the day’s work. It’s a steady life and we’re quite content with the way we do things around here. It gets windy by the water, but we like the fresh air.
