Hair Look Saloon

Our shop is right there on Fishmarket Street in the Lakshmipuram Center area of Vadlapudi. If you know where the Ammavaru Temple is, then you have definitely passed by Hair Look Saloon. It’s a noisy, lively part of Visakhapatnam. Being near the fish market means there is always a lot of movement and people shouting, which I actually quite like. It feels alive. I spend most of my day inside these four walls, watching the temple goers and the shoppers go by. The shop itself is pretty basic. I have my combs, my scissors, and a few bottles of spray. I don't go in for all those expensive treatments you see in the mall. People around here just want a clean look so they can go about their day. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the door wider to let the sunlight in so I can see what I’m doing. It’s not perfect, but it’s our way of doing things. My family has been in this part of Vizag for a long time, so I feel connected to the street. I usually have some music playing softly in the background to drown out the temple bells if they get too loud. If you’re coming from the Vadlapudi side, just look for the temple and you’ll find us right beside it. We are just here doing our job and trying to keep the place going.
