Gruhamitra General Stores

We’ve been here in Sector 11 for a while now. Gruhamitra General Stores isn't a fancy place, just a regular shop where you can find what you need for the kitchen. Most mornings start early, usually around seven when the milk arrives. The Visakhapatnam air is always a bit salty and damp, so the metal shutters get a bit stiff over time. We keep the usual things like dal, rice, and those small packets of shampoo people like. It gets busy in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work and realizes they forgot sugar or something for dinner. The shelves are a bit crowded, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for, but we usually know where everything is tucked away. The floor gets a bit dusty because of the road right outside, so we sweep it a few times a day, though it never stays clean for long. There is an old wooden counter where we sit and write down the bills. It’s a simple life here. We see the same faces every day, neighbors who have lived in the area for years and kids who come in for a single piece of chocolate or a pack of chips. We don't have big signs or anything, just the name on the board above the door that’s been there since we opened up. It is just us here, keeping the shop running and making sure the neighborhood has what it needs.
