Being located opposite the R T C bus stand in Santapalem village means I see a lot of travelers passing through. It is right on the way in Kothavalasa, so we get people from the village and also those just waiting for their next bus to Visakhapatnam. The shop is filled with all the basic things a house needs. We have big tins of oil, bags of rice, and many kinds of dals. It gets quite dusty here because of the buses pulling in and out all day long. The noise is something you just get used to after a while. I open the shop quite early because the first buses start running before the sun is fully up. Sometimes the village folks come in just to sit for a bit and talk about the crops or the weather. We don't have any bright lights or modern displays, just wooden shelves that have seen better days. It is a bit of a scramble when a bus stops and five people want different things at the same time. I try to keep enough change in the drawer because people always bring big notes for small items. The humidity here can make things feel a bit sticky, but that’s just how it is in this part of the country. I’ve been running this place for a long time, and not much has changed over the years. It’s a steady life, just selling what people need for their daily meals and chores.
