Fathima General Store

Fathima General Store has been a part of G Madugula for years. You can find us at 36-44, right where the main activity happens in this part of Vishakapatnam. We sell all the usual things people need for their daily lives, from soap to snacks and basic kitchen supplies. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze in here because we try to fit a lot of stuff on the shelves to give people choices. Sometimes we lose track of where a specific brand of biscuits is hidden, but we eventually find it. It is a family thing, so you might see my kids hanging around after school or my wife helping out with the billing during the rush. We don’t have a computer system or anything like that; we just use a notebook and a calculator. It works fine for us. People come here not just to buy things but to have a quick chat about the weather or local news. The shop gets dusty because of the road outside, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars and cans. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the district, just a reliable place for the neighbors. It’s a long day, starting before the sun is fully up, but it feels good to be part of the community here. Most of our stock comes from the city, and we try to keep prices fair so people keep coming back.
