Delure Hair Cutting Saloon is right in the middle of the action over at Poorna Market. If you know Visakhapatnam at all, you know how busy the Main Road near the market can get. We are right there amongst all the shops and stalls. It’s a very old part of town, and our shop fits right in with the rest of the buildings. We’ve been at this for a while, cutting hair for the market workers and the shoppers who pass through. The space is a bit tight because real estate in Poorna Market is hard to come by, but we managed to fit everything we need. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the street. You’ll hear the sounds of horns and people shouting outside, but that’s just life in the market. We don't have any fancy air conditioning or leather sofas. It’s just wooden chairs and basic equipment. People come here because they know us and they know what to expect. We don't put on any acts. It’s just a simple saloon where you get a cut and maybe a bit of a shave if you need it. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but we’re still here in the same spot, doing the same work every day. Sometimes the mirror gets foggy when it's humid, but we just wipe it down and carry on.
