Our hotel office is located at HIG-45 in Sector-1 of MVP Colony, Visakhapatnam. This is a fairly busy part of Andhra Pradesh, and there are always people walking by outside our door. We have been running things from this location for quite some time now. The building is a standard one for this area and doesn't stand out too much from the others on the street. Inside, we have our main desk where we handle the reservations and check people in. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the day. We don't use any fancy software, just what we need to keep track of who is coming and going. The staff here is local, and we all know the colony like the back of our hands. We spend our mornings getting the rooms ready and our afternoons catching up on the accounts. It can get very hot in Visakhapatnam, so we usually have the fans going in every room to stay cool. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. It is just a straightforward business. We see a lot of people who are in town for work or visiting their family members. Sometimes the neighbors stop by for a quick chat. We keep a stack of newspapers in the lobby for anyone who wants to read while they wait. It’s a very normal environment and we just focus on the basic tasks.
