Down at Plot No 36 in the D Block of Autonagar, that’s where Syamala Dry Fruits Private Limited is based. Being in Gajuwaka means we are right in the industrial heart of Visakhapatnam. The dust and the noise from the other plots are just part of the daily background here. We spend most of our hours sorting through different kinds of dry fruits. It’s a repetitive job but it has to be done right. The warehouse can get pretty warm during the middle of the day so we try to get the heavy lifting done early. Vishakhapatnam 530012 is a busy place for logistics and trade. We see trucks moving in and out of Autonagar all day long. Our setup is pretty straightforward with no fancy lobby or receptionists. We just have the workspace and the storage areas. Most of the people working here have lived in Vizag their whole lives. We don't talk much about visions or missions because we are too focused on the actual stock. If the quality of the nuts isn't right, we know it immediately. It’s a hands-on type of business. We’ve been at this plot for a while and everyone around here knows us by now. It’s just a local operation making its way in the dry fruit trade without making a big scene. We keep the doors open and the bags moving until the evening shift ends.
