We are up in the Paderu area, specifically at Door No: 1 in Geddamput. It’s a different kind of world up here in the Visakhapatnam hills. The air is cooler and the landscape is much more rugged than the plains. Manyatorana Farmer Producer Company Limited works with a lot of the local tribal farmers in this region. Our office is a modest building that fits right into the surroundings. We don't have much in the way of modern tech, just the basics to keep our records straight. The roads around Paderu are winding and can be a bit of a challenge in the monsoon season. We spend a lot of time out and about, meeting people where they live. When we are in the office, it’s usually to catch up on the endless paperwork that comes with being a producer company. It’s a tight-knit community here, so word of mouth is how most people find us. We don't do any advertising. We just focus on the coffee, pepper, or whatever else is being grown in the hills at the time. The days usually end when the sun goes down because travel gets harder in the dark. It’s a quiet, honest way to make a living. We have our fair share of problems with connectivity and transport, but we just deal with them one by one. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s ours.
