Mahasemam Trust

Mahasemam Trust is situated on the Kamaraj Bye Pass Road in Virudhunagar. We are at number 60 in Fethimanagar. It is pretty easy to find the building if you are looking for S Prabhu’s place. The road outside is a busy one, so we always hear the sound of the big lorries passing by on their way to the highway. The office inside is very basic. We have a few wooden benches where people can sit while they wait and some ceiling fans that have been around for a long time. It gets really hot in this part of town during the afternoon, so we leave the doors wide open to try and catch a breeze. We spend a lot of our time talking with folks from the local community who stop by for one thing or another. There is almost always a pile of paperwork on the main table, mostly just forms and handwritten notes from the day. We do not have any bright signs or new furniture. Everything we use is stuff we have had for years. The floor is made of that old grey stone that stays cool even when it is boiling outside. Sometimes the water cooler runs dry and we have to wait for the next delivery. It is a slow-paced life here in Virudhunagar, but there is always something that needs to be finished before we close up for the night.
