Jeyachandran Chemicals

We are located at No:30 on Ramamoorthy Road, right in the Teachers Colony area. It’s a fairly quiet part of town, which we like. Jeyachandran Chemicals has been operating from this building for quite a while now. We handle a variety of chemical supplies that local workshops and small factories need. Our setup is pretty basic: we have a front office area where we take the phone calls and a larger back section where the stock is kept. It’s a bit of a maze back there with all the containers, but we know where everything is. My brother and I usually handle the day-to-day stuff ourselves. We don’t have a big staff, so we end up doing a bit of everything, from unloading the trucks to doing the accounts. The floor is concrete and a bit cracked in places, but it holds up fine under the weight of the drums. We don’t spend much on decorating because it wouldn’t make much sense for a chemical supply shop. People come to us because they know we have what they need in stock, or we can get it fairly quickly for them. We try to be fair with everyone who walks through the door. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when a big shipment arrives on a hot afternoon. We just take it one order at a time. It’s a steady living, and we’re glad to be part of the community here on Ramamoorthy Road. We usually close up around six and head home.
