V V C Modern Rice Mill

The mill is located at 8-A/1 on Mambalapattu Road, which is usually quite a busy stretch of tarmac. You’ll hear the rumble of trucks going past all day long, mixing with the clatter of our own machinery. It’s a large space, mostly taken up by the processing units and the huge storage areas for the paddy. We’ve got a small crew that manages the daily operations, and most of them have been here since the beginning. The heat can be a bit much in the middle of the day, so we try to get the heavy loading done early when it’s still relatively cool. There’s always a fine mist of dust in the air, and you have to get used to the constant vibration under your feet. We don't spend money on fancy paint jobs or office furniture because the work happens out on the floor. It’s a practical place built for a specific purpose. Most of our days are spent checking the quality of the rice and making sure the machines are greased and ready to go. When a truck arrives, everyone jumps into action to get it unloaded and back on the road as fast as possible. Mambalapattu Road is a good location because it connects us to all the nearby farms, making it easy for people to reach us. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know, and the days go by pretty fast. We just keep the gates open and the motors running.
