Sakthi Rice Traders

You can find our shop at 258 Pandiankuppam Road over in Chinnasalem where we have been for quite some time now. It is a small space filled with bags of rice from top to bottom and sometimes it is hard to even find a place to sit down. We open up the shutters early and sweep the front because the road outside kicks up a lot of dust throughout the day. People from the local houses come by for a few kilos at a time and we also have some bigger orders that go out on the back of small vans. The fan in the corner makes a clicking sound that drives me crazy but it helps with the heat when the sun is directly overhead. We don't bother with fancy packaging or anything like that we just use the standard bags and mark them with a pen. My brother and I run the place and we usually take turns going for lunch while the other one stays to watch the counter. Sometimes we run out of a certain type of rice and we have to tell people to come back in a couple of days once the next shipment arrives. It is just a normal day-to-day business and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We are just here to sell rice and talk to the neighbors when they pass by the shop window.
