Greenfield Hitech Rice Mill

Greenfield Hitech Rice Mill is located at No: 3/156 on Pondy Road. Even though we have Hitech in the name, we are still a very grounded, local operation. We’ve got some newer machines than some of the older mills, but the work is still the same old hard labor. We spend our days watching the grain flow and making sure everything is working like it should. Being on Pondy Road means we get a lot of traffic passing by, and occasionally someone stops in to see what we are doing. The mill is a large shed-like structure where we keep the paddy and the processed rice separate. It’s hot work in the summer months, and the fans don't do much to help. We just drink plenty of water and keep going. We don't have a big team, just a few local guys who know how to handle the sacks and the machinery. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to provide a service for the farmers around here so they can sell their crop. We keep our books by hand mostly, sitting at a small wooden desk in the corner. It's a bit messy with papers and samples of rice everywhere, but we know where everything is. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure we don't have too much downtime during the peak season when everyone is bringing in their harvest.
