We've been here at 25, Kamarajar Road for quite some time now. If you walk down this part of Tirukoilur, you can't really miss the sound of the machines running. It’s a bit noisy, to be honest, but that’s just how it is when you’re milling rice every day. We started this place because we knew the area needed a decent spot to get their paddy processed without traveling too far. The building isn't anything fancy, just a practical space where the work gets done. Most days, you’ll find us covered in a bit of grain dust, moving bags around or checking the dryers. It gets pretty hot inside during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. People from around the neighborhood stop by, sometimes just to ask about the current prices or to see when their batch will be ready. We don't have a big office or anything like that. There’s just a small desk where we keep the ledger and some chairs for anyone waiting. It's a lot of physical work, lifting the heavy sacks and making sure the huller is working right. Sometimes the electricity acts up, which slows things down, but we’ve learned to manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest mill out there, we just want to do a solid job for the folks who bring their harvest to us here in Tirukoilur.
