Being on Pillayar Kovil Street means we are close to the heart of the village. It’s a different pace of life here compared to the big cities. We handle both exports and imports, so there’s always something coming in while something else is going out. Our building is a simple one, right there in the street where everyone knows each other. We spend a lot of time talking to the drivers and checking the manifests. It’s not a clean-desk kind of job. There’s always some dirt on the floor and stacks of papers that need sorting. We like it that way because it feels like we are actually doing something. The people in Vellakurichi are friendly, and we often stop what we are doing to chat with someone passing by. It’s a community effort here. We don't use big words or fancy talk to describe what we do. We just buy, sell, and move things across borders. It takes a lot of patience, especially with the paperwork, but we’ve got the hang of it now. When the sun goes down, we lock up and head home like everyone else. It’s a honest day’s work in a place we really care about, and we’ve been part of this street for many years.
