S. A.Tharun Hollow Block

We are located in Murukeri, specifically near the EB Office in the Siruvaadi Post area of Tindivanam Taluk. S. A.Tharun Hollow Block is a small operation. The yard is usually full of stacks of concrete blocks drying in the sun. We chose this spot because it’s easy for the trucks to get to. Being near the EB Office makes it easy for people to give directions to our place. We spend our days shoveling sand and cement. It’s a very physical job. There is always a layer of dust on everything, including our desks in the little shed we call an office. We don't have any polished sales pitches. When a customer comes in, we just show them what we’ve made that week. Sometimes the batches look a little different depending on the sand we get, but they are all solid. We work according to the weather. If it rains, everything slows down and we cover the piles with tarps. If it’s hot, we drink a lot of water and keep the machines running. We’ve been part of the Tindivanam community for a while now. Most of our workers live nearby. We don't do much advertising. People just see our stacks of blocks from the road and stop by. It’s a basic way to earn a living, but it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset.
