Panruti Cashew Confectionery

You can find us at No. 117-B on Police Line 4th Street. Panruti Cashew Confectionery is where we spend our days dealing with cashews and making sweets. It’s a small place on a street that most people only go down if they live there or are coming to see us. The smell of roasted nuts usually fills the air around the building. We do a lot of the work by hand, from sorting the nuts to packing the final bags. It’s a very hands-on process. We don’t use giant automated factories; it’s more about the people working the tables. The 4th Street can be quiet compared to the main roads, which is nice. We have a small counter where people can stop by. Most of the time, we are busy in the back where the ovens and the packing area are. It’s a bit of a family-style environment here. We don't have fancy titles or corporate meetings. We just decide what needs to be made for the day and get to it. Sometimes we run out of a certain type of cashew, and we have to wait for the next delivery to arrive. It’s a simple business but it keeps the neighborhood happy with some snacks. The building is just a regular house-turned-workshop, nothing fancy at all, but it works for us.
