Hotel Breeze, Chennai

We've been at 139/10A Police Line Street in Sankarapuram for a while now. It’s a busy part of Tamil Nadu, especially with the police station nearby, but it keeps things interesting. Hotel Breeze isn't one of those massive glass buildings you see in the city center. It’s more of a place where we know the names of the regulars and we try to keep the fans running well because the heat gets pretty bad in the afternoons. Sometimes the street gets noisy with the bikes and people going about their business, but that’s just life here. We spend a lot of our time making sure the beds are made right and the bathrooms are clean before the next person shows up. Most folks who stay here are just passing through for work or seeing family in the 606 401 area. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything, just some shirts that match. There is always someone behind the desk if you need a glass of water or directions to the nearest shop. The building has its quirks, like that one door that sticks when it rains, but we manage. It's just a regular spot to sleep and get some rest. We see a lot of people come and go, and we just try to make sure they have a key and a quiet enough corner. It’s honest work and we like being part of this neighborhood.
