Budarakatti Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Bailhongal. You can find us at Bheemappa Tirkappa’s place in Dombarkatti Budrakatti village. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but this is where the farming happens in Belgaum. We are a local group of growers. We didn't want to deal with middle men all the time, so we set this company up. It’s mostly just us sitting around and figuring out the best way to get our produce to the markets. The office is really just a part of the house where we keep the ledgers and the stamps. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning. We just have a desk and some chairs. In the 591102 area, everyone knows everyone else. We talk about the rain, the soil, and the prices of fertilizers. It’s a practical way to live. We don't spend money on things we don't need. Our focus is just on the crops we grow around the village. Sometimes the harvest is great and sometimes we struggle, but that’s just how farming goes. We aren't doing anything complicated. We just work together to see if we can get a better deal for what we grow. It’s a simple life here in this part of Karnataka. We just keep going day by day. That is how we run things in the village.
