Vijaya Durga General Stores

Vijaya Durga General Stores is a small spot in Priserpeta. Our address is D No: 16-1/6-18, and we have been part of this Vijayawada neighborhood for a good while. It is a very straightforward kind of shop. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be careful about where we put things. I usually spend my morning unloading crates and making sure the milk packets are cold. Priserpeta is a working area, so people are always in a rush to get to where they are going. They appreciate being able to grab what they need without a lot of fuss. The walls of the shop could use a fresh coat of paint, but they have character and hold a lot of memories. I keep a small fan going behind the counter to deal with the Vijayawada heat in the summer. Sometimes my friends come by and we sit on the wooden bench outside for a few minutes to talk. It is a humble business, just selling the things that people use every single day in their homes. I don't bother with fancy advertising or anything like that. People know where we are and they know what we have on the shelves. It is just about being consistent and being there when the neighbors need a kilo of sugar or some matchboxes. It’s a simple life at 520001, and I am content with it.
