Our place is at 11/11/12, Vatturivarist No. 2. It’s an address that people sometimes find a little confusing the first time they visit, but once you’ve been here, it’s easy to remember. We’ve been running things as a family for a long time. It’s not a huge operation, just a few of us making sure everything stays on track. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things we’ve collected or sold over the years. We don't really have a set routine, other than opening the doors in the morning and seeing what the day brings. Sometimes it’s very quiet and we spend time tidying up the back room. Other days, everyone seems to come in at once. We don't use any high-tech systems for our inventory; it’s mostly just notebooks and a good memory. The building itself is old, with some cracks in the plaster and windows that rattle when a heavy truck goes by. We don't mind it much. It has character. We try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door, even if they’re just looking for directions. There’s usually a radio playing somewhere in the background, mostly just news or some old music. We don't have any big plans to expand or move. We’re quite happy right where we are, doing what we’ve always done. It’s a simple life and a simple business, and that suits us just fine. Every day is a little different, but the work stays pretty much the same.
