Vijay Sai General Store

You can find Vijay Sai General Store at D. No: 5-7-23/1 in the Prizerpet area of Chittinagar. It’s right here in Vijayawada, and like most shops in this area, it stays pretty warm throughout the day. I’ve got a couple of fans running constantly, but they mostly just move the warm air around. The shop is filled with a little bit of everything. I sell snacks, cold sodas, and basic household items like soaps and lightbulbs. I keep the sodas in a small fridge that hums loudly in the quiet moments. Children from the nearby houses often stop by with a few coins looking for sweets or small toys. I have to keep an eye on them so they don't knock over the towers of biscuit packets I’ve stacked up. The counter is covered in a piece of old linoleum that’s peeling at the edges. I usually spend my afternoons listening to the cricket scores on a small transistor radio or chatting with whoever stops by for a minute. It’s a modest place and I don't try to make it look like something it isn't. Sometimes I run out of a certain brand of soap and people have to wait until the next delivery truck comes by on Tuesday. That's just how it goes here. We don't have any fancy scanners, so I just remember the prices. It's a steady life.
