Venkata Durga General Stores

Venkata Durga General Stores is over in One Town, Vijayawada. We are at Door No 11-55-18 on Canal Road. If you know the area, we are right beside the Sweet Magic shop and not too far from the Vinayak Temple. Being on Canal Road means we see a lot of different people every day. The traffic can be a bit much, and there is always a layer of dust on the front step from the vehicles going by. We are a general store, so we carry a bit of everything for the house. It’s a busy spot because people going to the temple or the sweet shop often stop in here too. The shop itself is pretty basic. We have shelves lining the walls from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it is hard to find things because we have so much stuff packed in. I spend a lot of time just dusting things off and reorganizing the cans and packets. It’s not a polished place at all. The floor is just plain tiles and the counter is old wood. We have been here for a good while and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Despite the noise from the road and the crowds from the temple, we just keep the doors open and do our work. It is a practical shop for people who live and work in the One Town area.
