Times Of India

Our little setup for the Times Of India is located at 19-164 in Sector-1 over in Sai Madhav Nagar. Being here in Visakhapatanam means we see a lot of what goes on around town. This is where the local work for the newspaper happens. It is a busy place, especially when deadlines are coming up or when there is big news in the sector. The office itself is pretty basic. We have the usual stuff like desks piled with papers and some older computers. People come and go all day. It’s not just about the big headlines, but also the smaller local things that people in our neighborhood care about. Sometimes the power goes out or it gets a bit noisy outside, but we just keep working through it. We aren't trying to be fancy here. It is just a place where the news gets gathered and sorted before it goes out. Most of us have been working in this part of the city for a long time. You can find us easily enough in Sector-1. It is a lot of typing and talking on the phones. There is always a stack of yesterday's papers in the corner and someone is usually drinking tea. We just do the job day in and day out. It feels like a second home to many of the staff who spend more time here than at their own houses. It is a simple routine that we all know well.
