Freelancer

I've been sitting at this desk on Drain Street in Islampet for a few years now. It is just me mostly, working out of the house at H-No:9-62-77. Vijayawada gets really hot in the summer months, so the ceiling fan is always on full blast while I try to get things done. People usually find me when they need something specific finished and don't want to go to a big office where nobody knows their name. I grew up around here and stayed because it's home. The street is usually pretty busy with people going to and from, and sometimes the noise makes it hard to focus, but you get used to it. I don't have a big team or anything like that. It’s just a laptop and a lot of tea to keep me going through the afternoon. Sometimes the internet acts up, especially when it rains hard, so I have to take a walk down the road until things start working again. My chair squeaks every time I lean back, but it's been with me since I started. I handle different tasks depending on what walks through the door or hits my inbox. It isn't anything fancy. I just try to do the work right so people come back next time. Most of my neighbors know what I do, though they still ask why I stay inside all day. It’s a quiet way to make a living in Islampet.
