Srinivasa Coffee & General Store

Down on Decent Road in Vijayawada, you will find us at Srinivasa Coffee & General Store. We are at 27-32-10, right behind Mohammed Khan Jewellery. The best thing about being here is the smell of the coffee beans. We spend a lot of time grinding them and the aroma stays on your clothes even after you go home. It’s a general store too, so we have all the other bits and pieces people need for their homes. The road outside can get quite congested with scooters and people going to the jewelry shops. I start the day by cleaning the glass jars and checking what needs to be ordered from the wholesalers. It is a small shop, so every inch of wall space is covered with something, from soaps to small toys. The sun hits the front of the store in the afternoon, making it quite bright inside. We have some regular customers who have been coming here since they were young, and now they bring their own children for a piece of candy. It’s nice to have that connection. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It is just a wooden counter and a lot of stock that we try to keep organized. Some days are slow and I just sit on a stool and watch the traffic go by, but then a rush comes and everyone wants something at the same time. I usually end the day with ink on my fingers from writing bills.
