Srikanth

I have a small place in Purnananda Peta in Vijayawada. It is right beside the Anjaneya Swamy Temple, which is a very well-known landmark for everyone in this neighborhood. My name is Srikanth, and I just run things here on my own for the most part. The area is usually quite peaceful, except when there are temple festivals and the streets get packed with devotees. My shop doesn't have a big sign or anything flashy; it’s just a simple door that I open every morning at the same time. I spend a lot of my day sitting by the front, watching people go by and helping anyone who walks in with whatever they are looking for. I don't have a corporate strategy or anything like that. I just focus on what needs to be done today. Sometimes it's slow and I just read the paper, and other times several people come in at once and I have to move fast. Vijayawada can be very humid, so I keep a small fan right next to my chair. The walls inside could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they've looked this way for years and it feels like home. It is a very local way of doing things, and I know most of the people who walk past my door by their first names. It's just a quiet life here by the temple, doing my best to keep the business going steadily.
