Sri Vasavi Traders

Sri Vasavi Traders is located at Shop No 5 on Gulab Chand Street. We are right in the middle of One Town, over by Durga Market. It’s a very crowded area in Vijayawada, and the noise never really stops. I spend a lot of time just moving sacks around and making sure things aren't getting too dusty. The market gets so busy in the mornings that you can barely walk through the street sometimes. Our shop isn't anything special to look at, just a small space filled with whatever we are trading that week. We have been here for a long time, and the floor is a bit worn out from all the walking. I usually arrive around nine and stay until it’s dark. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there with a torch. People come in asking for things, and I have to remember which pile I put them in. Durga Market has a smell of its own, mostly spices and exhaust from the lorries. My hands are usually a bit dirty by lunch time from handling all the items. It’s just a normal way to earn a living, I suppose. We don't have fancy lights or big signs, just the old board hanging above the door. It gets really hot in 520001, so the small fan behind the counter is my best friend most days.
