Sri Bhavani General Stores

Our shop, Sri Bhavani General Stores, is on Sivalayam Veedhi in the Durgaagraharam area of Vijayawada. It’s a neighborhood where everyone seems to know everyone else’s business. We have a small storefront, and we’ve packed it with as much as we can. You’ll find soap, shampoo, snacks, and the basic kitchen items like salt and oil. It’s a bit tight when more than two people are inside at the same time, but we manage. The street outside is narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, it blocks everything for a few minutes. We have to be quick about unloading the crates. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. We just talk to the people who walk in. Some days are slow, especially when it’s raining hard and the street gets a bit flooded near the drains. We just sit on our stools and wait it out, maybe have some tea. We keep a ledger for the regular neighbors who pay at the end of the month. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it’s how we’ve always handled it. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but there never seems to be a good time to close up and do it. We just keep going, making sure we have what the local families need for their daily lives in Durgaagraharam. It’s honest work.
