We’re located in Shop No 1 at the Illapuram Complex. If you know where the Illapuram Hotel is in Gandhi Nagar, we are right behind it on Narravari Street. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot of stuff into it. Being a florist in Vijayawada means we’re up early every morning to get the fresh stock. The smell of the flowers is usually the first thing you notice when you walk in. We spend most of our time trimming stems and putting together different arrangements. It’s a lot of work on your feet all day. The shop can get pretty humid, but that’s good for the plants I guess. We’ve been here in Gandhi Nagar for quite a while. Most of the regulars know us by name. We don't really do much advertising. People just see the flowers when they walk by and stop in. Sometimes it gets really hectic during festival times or when there’s a big wedding in town. We try to keep everything tidy, but there’s usually leaves and water on the floor by noon. It’s just part of the job. We don't have a big corporate structure, it’s just us doing what we know how to do. If you need to find us, just look behind the hotel. We’re usually there working on something new. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. It keeps the energy up when we have hundreds of flowers to sort.
