Shri Krishna Durga Oil & General Store

Our store is located right in the middle of the daily chaos at Kaleswara Rao Market. If you know the Tarapet area, then you already know how busy it gets around here. We are at 11-40-2 on Pulipativari Street. Being right beside Baba Badam House really helps people find us, as that is a very popular landmark for everyone. We sell oil but we also keep a whole lot of other general stuff too. It is a very cramped space because we try to stock every single thing that people might ask for. There are bags of rice, heavy tins of oil, and small household items tucked into every corner. I spend my days weighing things out on the scale and chatting with the regulars who come by. The market noise is just something you get used to after a few weeks. You hear the shouting of all the other vendors all day long. It is a good kind of energy to be around, though. We have been here in this part of Tarapet for quite some time now. My kids help out when they can after school, but mostly it is just me and a couple of young helpers. We do not have any fancy glass displays or bright lights. Everything is just placed where it happens to fit on the shelf. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer wants, but we always find it eventually. It is just the local way of doing business.
