Shree Maatha Designer

Down at Plot Number 17-1-17 in Krishna Nagar, you will find our little shop, Shree Maatha Designer. We have been here for a while now. We work on different designs and try to keep up with what people are wearing these days. It’s not a big factory. It’s just a space where we sit and think about fabrics and patterns. The street outside can get a bit loud with the motorbikes passing by. We mostly tune it out once we get busy with our work. We have a couple of old sewing machines that have seen better days. They still run fine if you treat them right. Sometimes we spend hours just looking at a single piece of cloth. We try to figure out the best way to cut it. It’s quiet work for the most part. We have the hum of the machines and the occasional chat over tea. We don't have a big sign out front. It's just a simple one so people know they’ve hit the right house. Usually, customers come in with an idea they saw somewhere. We try to see if we can make it work for them. It doesn't always go perfectly on the first try. We keep at it until it looks right. We prefer working this way. We just take it day by day and focus on the task right in front of us. Our neighbors are nice. The neighborhood has a good feel to it most days. We usually finish up when the light starts to fade.
