Sathyasri Prasad General Stores

We run Sathyasri Prasad General Stores on Eluru Road. It is in the Seetharamapuram area of Vijayawada. This road is always busy with buses and cycles going past. Our shop is right on the main stretch. We carry the usual things like grains, oil, and household cleaners. It gets quite humid here, so we try to keep everything dry and cool. The shop has been in the family for a while. It is not a massive place, but we pack a lot into the shelves. Sometimes you have to point at what you want if I cannot hear you over the traffic noise. We open pretty early, usually before the sun gets too high. People stop by on their way to work to pick up small things. I handle most of the customers myself, though my nephew comes in during the holidays. We do not use any fancy computers for billing. It is all done by hand in the books. It takes a little longer, but it is more reliable for us. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we have not found the time yet. Customers do not seem to mind. They just want their groceries at a fair price. We keep things simple. There is no big mystery to it. We just show up every day and wait for the shutters to go up. It is a life we know well and it keeps us busy.
