Sandhya General Stores

Sandhya General Stores is located in the Itharamulu Shopping Complex, right on Brahmin Street in the Krishna Lanka area of Vijayawada. It is a bit of a crowded area, especially in the evenings when everyone is out doing their shopping. We have been here for a while, tucked away in this complex. Our shelves are mostly full of things like rice, pulses, and household cleaning supplies. Since we are on Brahmin Street, we get a lot of regulars who come in for their weekly groceries. It’s not a very big store, so things can get a bit cramped when more than three or four people are inside at once. We spend a lot of time checking the stock and writing down what we need to order next. The heat in Vijayawada can be quite something in the afternoons, so the fans are always going in the shop. It’s a simple operation, really. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. We just try to make sure we have the brands people like and that the prices are right for the neighborhood. Sometimes people just stop by to say hello while they are passing through the shopping complex. We handle everything ourselves, from unloading the bags of grain to tallying up the bills at the end of the day. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us busy and connected to the people living around here. We just do our best to stay organized.
