Ram Devi Stores

Ram Devi Stores is found at Door No 11-55-9/3 on Marvadi Temple Street in the One Town area of Vijayawada. We are near the Canal Road and not far from the Vinayak Temple. Being so close to the temple means we see a lot of people every day, especially during the festivals. The streets in One Town are very narrow and always filled with the smell of incense and street food. Our shop is just a small space where we keep our stock piled up high. The 520001 pin code is the heart of the old city, so it’s never quiet here. We have an old wooden counter that has been worn smooth over the years. We don't have any computers or modern machines; we just use a simple calculator and a pen. Most of the day is spent talking to customers or the other shopkeepers on the street. It gets very hot in the summer because the buildings are so close together and there isn't much breeze. We keep a small fan near the ceiling, but it doesn't do much. We have been in this spot for a long time and the walls show it. It’s just a basic store selling what people need for their daily lives. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It is just Ram Devi Stores, a part of the busy life near the Vinayak Temple.
